‘I am a regular air traveller and on a return flight to Melbourne I suffered sudden tightness and pain in my calves which did not improve after exercise and massage. Eventually an ultrasound revealed a large 10-cm blood clot in my left calf. Against expert medical opinion regarding so called alternatives I decided to undertake Hyperbaric Oxygenation under the advice and recommendation of my friend Mal Hooper. I received HBOT daily for 3-weeks and then had another independent ultrasound performed by the same technician at the same facility. Much to the surprise of the technician and myself the clot had reduced by approx. 50%. I took a break from HBOT during which time the clot did not alter and certainly did not reduce any further; this was now my third ultrasound. I under took another 2-week intensive HBOT and followed with another ultrasound and the clot had now vanished! Rushing in for surgery may not always be the only option; Hyperbaric Oxygenation has made a profound impact on my condition – regards Graeme’
